Édouard-Antoine Marsal
Édouard-Antoine Marsal (born July 4, 1845 in Montpellier , Département Hérault , † 1929 there ) was a French painter.
Life
Marsal came like Guillaume-Charles Brun and Alexandre Cabanel from Montpellier. When he went to Paris to study painting, he did so at the École des Beaux-Arts , where he met Brun and Cabanel again. He later returned to his hometown and established a successful studio there. For a few years Marsal also taught at the École des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier.
In 1868 Marsal was invited to take part in the great annual exhibition of the Salon de Paris . He did this with great success and was then to be seen at these annual exhibitions until 1888.
