Édouard Estaunié (born February 4, 1862 in Dijon , Département Côte-d'Or , † April 2, 1942 in Paris ) was a French writer and homme de lettres .

Life

Estaunié studied at the École polytechnique ( Palaiseau ) until 1882 and then moved to the École libre des sciences politiques in Paris. After graduating there, he attended the École nationale superieure des télécommunications , also in Paris . Subsequently, he got a job with the postal administration .

On November 15, 1923, the Académie française accepted him as the successor to the late journalist Alfred Capus ( Fauteuil 24 ).

Two months after his 80th birthday, Édouard Estaunié died on April 2, 1942 in Paris, where he found his final resting place.
