Éva Ruttkai , née Éva Russ , (born December 31, 1927 in Budapest ; † September 27, 1986 there ) was a Hungarian actress .

Life

Éva Ruttkai had already appeared on stage as a child and in 1934 in the film in István Székely's Purple Acacia . After the war she appeared as a reciter and was engaged on various stages. From 1948 she played regularly in Hungarian films , including in Márton Keleti's The Siege of Beszterc (1948) and Félix Máriássy's Katharina's marriage (1950). From 1951 to 1953 Ruttkai completed an acting training at the Budapest Theater and Film School and soon became one of the most popular actresses of her generation in Hungary. Her repertoire was very varied and included comedies as well as time-related and dramatic films. She was particularly convincing in Máriássy's Julika with the Snub nose (1955), Keleti's Story of My Stupidity (1965), József Magyar's family drama Once Upon a Family (1972) and Zsolt Kézdi-Kovács ’s When Joseph Comes (1976).

In 1950 she married her fellow actor Miklós Gábor , and their daughter was born in 1953. In 1960 she met the actor Zoltán Latinovits , with whom she lived until his death in 1976.
