The Ile aux Phoques (French for Robben Island ), also known as Phoque Iceland , is a rocky and 160 m long island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélielands . It is the southernmost of a small group of islands 160 m north of Cape Margerie .
Participants in a French Antarctic expedition that lasted from 1949 to 1951 made a map and named the island after the numerous seals that can be found here .
