Òmnium Cultural is a Catalan cultural organization that was founded in 1961 during the Franco dictatorship in Spain to protect and promotethe Catalan language . Òmnium Cultural was founded on July 11, 1961 as a cultural organization. Òmnium Cultural had over 117,000 members in mid-2018 and, in addition to the main office in Barcelona, ​​maintains 39 regional offices throughout Catalonia, the Balearic Islands as well as in Valencia and Perpignan (kat: Perpinyà). The basic structure of this cultural institution consists of the annual general meeting of members, which elects a total of 24 representatives of the board.
