Ökonomenstimme is a German-language internet platform for economists, founded in 2010 by the KOF Economic Research Center at ETH Zurich - "by economists for economists and everyone who is interested in economic topics, the economy" . It is intended to «promote the dissemination of economic knowledge and stimulate debate» .

Its initiators are Richard Baldwin , Gebhard Kirchgässner and Jan-Egbert Sturm , the founding members of "a number of well-known economists" from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including Peter Bofinger , Hans-Werner Sinn , Dennis Snower , Beatrice Weder di Mauro and Lars P. Field . The main editor and editor is David Iselin , who together with Jan-Egbert Sturm is also the editor.

Ökonomenstimme would like to contribute to the discussion of economic issues in German-speaking countries - with the publication of economic research reports and analyzes, or comments on economic and economic policy topics.

Ökonomenstimme's media partners - Handelsblatt , NZZ , Die Presse - can easily publish texts published on Ökonomenstimme. You can also view the texts exclusively before publication. In return, Ökonomenstimme also takes on articles from the media partners.

Ökonomenstimme's partner and role model is the English-language platform Vox (voxeu.org). Further partners are the national variants of Vox, such as the Italian LaVoce , French Telos , Dutch Me Judice or Spanish Nada es Gratis . In the further, u. a., the Latin American Vox LACEA (Latin American and Caribbean Economic Association), the Japanese Hi-Stat Vox (founded by the Japanese Global COE Program Research Unit for Statistical Analysis in the Social Sciences).
