Eco park

An ecopark is a forest area in Sweden operated by the Swedish state company Sveaskog from an ecological point of view .

Sveaskog operates a total of 36 eco parks in Sweden (as of June 2008). An ecopark is at least 1000 hectares in size and encompasses a contiguous landscape that is of high ecological value. In ecoparks one is forestry use possible, but environmental aspects are to be given a priority. At least 50% of the forest area is made available for landscape or nature conservation . There are measures to improve the natural value such as renaturation .

A well-known eco park is the Böda Kronopark on Öland .
