The former Österbymo train station

Österbymo is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province County Östergötland and the historical province Östergötland . The place is the capital of the municipality of Ydre .

The name is the first time in 1720 as moen Österby and later in 1789 as Österby mo occupied and refers to a market town. The prefix contains the name of the old village Østerby , which is now part of the village. The suffix -mo means sandy soil.
