The Austrian Mountaineering Association ( ÖBV ) is an Austrian association and an umbrella organization or an association of smaller alpine societies and associations and is in turn a member of the alpine umbrella organization Verband Alpiner Vereine Österreichs (VAVÖ). The interest group was founded in the first third of the 20th century and has its headquarters at Bäckerstraße 16, 1010 Vienna, as well as the Austrian Tourist Association (ÖTV) and the VAVÖ.

The mountaineering association represents the interests of around 20 sports clubs and alpine clubs. The member associations together have around 6,000 members and operate around 20 shelters . The two largest member associations are the Austrian Tourist Association and the Association of Austrian Speleologists .
