The Austrian Society for Environment and Technology is a non-partisan platform for the environment , business and administration .

The central tasks of the ÖGUT are to strengthen the networking and communication between the members, the preparation and communication of information for decision makers as well as the stimulation of innovation in the environmental sector .

history

The Austrian Society for Environment and Technology (ÖGUT) was founded in 1985 as a non-partisan platform after the conflict over the Hainburg power plant and the occupation of the Hainburger Au . The President of ÖGUT is René Alfons Haiden , the General Secretary is Monika Auer.

The Austrian Society for Environment and Technology is an association whose activities are not geared towards profit. The association works according to the principle of non-partisan and non-profit status and works for and with its around 110 members on the development of sustainable solutions and innovations. The members are organizations from the environment, economy and administration.

activities

ÖGUT has set itself the goal of improving the culture of discussion between the social interest groups, preparing decision-making documents for the implementation of a sustainable environmental policy and initiating solutions that benefit the environment and the economy. With publications, studies, events, recommendations and discussions with decision-makers, the basis for a sustainable future is created. The main focus of the work is on the topics of energy , gender & diversity , green investment, innovative building , participation and resources & consumption .

In addition to handling national and European projects in a wide variety of environmentally relevant topics, ÖGUT annually awards exemplary projects with the ÖGUT environmental award .
