Environmental protection organization

An environmental protection organization is an organization that acts against changes in the biosphere that are harmful from their point of view and wants to preserve the basis of human life as intact as possible or is committed to sustainable development. The largest German environmental associations are BUND and NABU . Other well-known environmental protection organizations include Greenpeace , WWF , Friends of Nature and the Green League .

Some environmental activists also use acts of civil disobedience and often risk fines, sometimes even their physical integrity. The anti-nuclear power movement , Greenpeace , Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Robin Wood are known for sensational actions in this sense . Well-known environmental activists are Al Gore , Monika Griefahn , David McTaggart , Wangari Muta Maathai , Arnold Schwarzenegger and Greta Thunberg .
