In memory of them, a memorial was erected based on a design by Martin Haller and WP Behrmann . This was supplemented in 1896/97 by an ornament cartouche at the upper end and a coat of arms cartouche at the lower end. It was implemented in 1958 on the Elbe slope above Große Elbstraße in the green area of the Elbe bank hiking trail below the Palmaille 45 house .
A memorial plaque on Heligoland (in the cemetery of the nameless on the dune ) also commemorates the dead in this naval battle.
