The Austrian Compact Sport Association (ÖCSV) is a darts sports organization .

history

The ÖCSV has existed since 1992 and has set itself the task of developing and managing sports concepts for compact sports (darts, soccer and billiards ). The association consists mainly of associations from the regions of Upper Austria, Lower Austria and Salzburg. The ÖCSV is also represented in Burgenland , Carinthia , parts of Styria , Vorarlberg and Vienna . Only in Tyrol could the ÖCSV league not gain a foothold.

In 1992 the first ÖCSV league season started under the patronage of the Funworld company from Gmunden with 71 teams. The peak was recorded in 1998 with around 800 team registrations. In 2009, ÖCSV looked after 570 teams across Austria.

Tournaments

National tournaments

In 1993 the ÖCSV organized the Austrian State Championships at the Royal Dartes (brand name of the Löwen-Dart-devices in Austria) for the first time. In 2001 the ÖCSV organized the 9th International Open State Championships at the Royal Dartes. Participation in these state championships of the ÖCSV has always been high. With 234 participants in the men's singles in 1998, a mark was reached that has certainly never been reached again in Austria.

In addition, the so-called final league tournaments for the ÖCSV league teams have been held at the end of each season since 1992. Since the spring league 1995 there have been league final tournaments for single players. Not quite 200 teams traveled to Schladming for the largest league final tournament. At that time, the ÖCSV looked after around 1,800 darts athletes on two tournament days. Furthermore, the ÖCSV Austrian Dart Masters tournament series was offered in 1997/98.

International tournaments

In 1999, the ÖCSV dared to host an international tournament for the first time. The Inter Dart Trophy took place in Schladming and attracted participants from seven nations. Just one year later, the ÖCSV was able to prove its qualities by organizing the 1st European Come Together Dart Festival in Rovinj (Croatia) with 575 participants from 14 nations. Also at the 2nd European Come Together Dart Festival 2001 the ÖCSV has the organizer, the FECS (European umbrella organization) actively supported.

successes

The greatest success for the national team provided by the ÖCSV was the team world championship title, which Thomas Klocker, Harald Hartl, Michael Riepan, Lisa Steinbach, Camelia Hejsek and Rosemarie Gillmayr brought to Austria in 1997 in Lucerne (Switzerland).

In 1998 the European Championship title followed in the team competition (Anton Pein, Thomas Klocker, Wolfgang Fürst, Camelia Hejsek, Lisa Steinbach and Carmen Merl) and the European title in the men's singles for Anton Pein. In 1999 Mensur Suljović won the men's singles world championship title at the World Championships in Kalkar (Germany) as a member of the ÖCSV national team.

The ÖCSV teams were also able to achieve success at the annual team world championships in Las Vegas, USA. In 1996 and 1999 the Austrian All-Star-Team won the so-called International Challenge, in 1998 the DC Dart Fuchs team from Eitweg won the Masters 501 Tuesday / Thursday.

Memberships

Through its membership in the FECS (European Darts Association), the ÖCSV can enable its players to participate in international events. The first successes came from the European Cup competitions organized by the FECS. Both in 1994 and 1995 Austrian teams were able to place themselves right at the front.
