Dirk Matthias Panter (born February 7, 1974 in Achern ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Saxon state parliament .

Life

The Panter, who comes from Oberachern in Baden, began studying political and administrative sciences at the University of Leipzig in 1995 . Other stations during the course were Paris , Utrecht and Surabaya . In 2000 he graduated with a degree in administrative science with distinction. From 2000 to 2006 he worked at the investment bank JP Morgan in London , New York and Frankfurt as an analyst and associate.

Panter has lived in Leipzig since 1995 and has two children.

Political party

Panter has been a member of the SPD since 1998. From 2006 to 2009 he held the office of regional manager of the SPD Saxony, from 2007 to 2015 he was general secretary of the SPD Saxony .

MP

In the 2009 state elections , Panter entered the Saxon state parliament for the first time via the SPD state list. During the 5th electoral term he was a member of the budget and finance committee, media policy, network policy and energy policy spokesman for his group. In the 6th electoral term he is the spokesman for budget and finance as well as media policy of his group. On November 24, 2014, he was elected to succeed Martin Dulig as parliamentary group chairman, who had entered the Saxon state government as a minister.

Others

Panter has been a member of the Central German Broadcasting Council (MDR) since 2010 .
