Mike Bischoff (born April 2, 1965 in Schwedt / Oder ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and member of the Brandenburg state parliament .

Life and work

After training as an industrial electronics technician from 1981 to 1984, he worked as a test field technician in Schwedt / Oder from 1986 to 1995 . In 1995 he took up further training at the Administration and Business Academy East Brandenburg and graduated in 1998 as a business economist (VWA) . During his further training, he worked from 1995 to 1999 as an employee for a member of the state parliament.

Bischoff has been a member of the Schwedt / Oder city council since 1998.

In the 1999 state elections he became a member of the Brandenburg state parliament for the first time. Since 2000 he has been deputy chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance and since October 2004 also deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.

In the state elections on September 27, 2009 , contrary to the national trend, he achieved the second best result in Brandenburg after Prime Minister Matthias Platzeck in the state electoral district of Uckermark II , with 44.4% of the first votes . From October 26, 2010 to January 12, 2016 he was Parliamentary Executive Director of his group. Since January 12, 2016, he has been the parliamentary group leader in the state parliament, succeeding the late Klaus Ness .

Political party

Bischoff has been a member of the SPD since 1995.
