Recognition as a university degree for degrees at Bavarian VWAs

For over 100 years, the administration and business academies in Germany have made it possible to study part-time at university level. According to the decision of the Bavarian Supreme Court of January 8, 2003, "the diploma obtained at an administrative and business academy in Bavaria is to be regarded as comparable to a university degree."

Bachelor and Master degrees

As part of the Bologna process, most administrative and business academies as well as vocational academies cooperate with universities of applied sciences and universities of applied sciences, so that a bachelor's degree can be acquired through a four-semester postgraduate course . There may be the opportunity to subsequently take part in Master’s courses. For this purpose, the Federal Association of Administrative and Business Academies has entered into cooperation with various European business schools .
