Johanne "Hanne" Modder geb. Dannen (born July 12, 1960 in Bunderhee , district of Leer ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and chairwoman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Lower Saxony state parliament . She is married and has two kids.

education and profession

After Modder had finished the central school in Bunde in 1975 with a qualified secondary school diploma , she attended the two-year business vocational school . She then completed vocational training as an administrative clerk and between 1979 and 1985 worked for the local government in Bunde. From 1999 until her election to the state parliament in 2003, she worked in the office of the SPD state parliament members Helmut Collmann and Anton Lücht .

politics

Modder has been a member of the SPD and councilwoman of the Bunde community since 1986. In 1991 she became a councilor for the municipality of Bunde and was mayor from 1996 to 2001, then deputy mayor. Since 2001 she has also been chairwoman of the local council group and chairwoman of the SPD community association Bunde and a member of the district council for the district of Leer . Modder has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2003 and has been chairwoman of her parliamentary group since January 2013 . She is also the chair of the Social Democratic Community for Local Politics (SGK) in the Weser-Ems district. From February 2008 to January 2013, Johanne Modder was also domestic policy spokeswoman and deputy parliamentary group leader of the SPD parliamentary group. On May 8, 2010 Johanne Modder was elected chairwoman of the SPD district Weser-Ems with 98.7 percent of the votes at a district party conference in Wardenburg ( Oldenburg district ) as the successor of Garrelt Duin . On October 26, 2013, she was re-elected as chairwoman of this district at the Weser-Ems district party conference in Cloppenburg .
