Huts on the Östra Arådalen mountain pasture

Östra Arådalen is an alpine pasture settlement in the Arådalen valley in the historic Swedish province of Jämtland , with a very wide view of Oviksfjäll . The Alm consists of several huts, some of which are still in traditional use today. After the Almsiedlung was restored with the help of the Länsmuseum ( Jamtli Provincial Museum ), it received a diploma from the European monument protection association Europa Nostra in 1991 .

The open grassy areas are mainly covered with bush- shaped juniper , which can live up to 1000 years at these altitudes.
