history

Østerklit Stokmølle ( German  Stockmühle ) is Denmark's last functioning wood mill and is located in the Tversted Klitplantage , not far from Tannisbugten . The name “ stick mill” comes from the mill wings that are attached to a wooden structure called a stick . The steel movement transmits the force generated by the rotation of the blades to the grinder or other machinery. The term roof mill is common in Germany.

The original Østerklit farm dates back to 1688, the former main building of the Paarhof farm was built in 1872 and burned down in 1981. The mill was built on the farm's barn in 1912. The functioning mill was restored in 1993. It is in operation on special occasions.
