Úlfur Karlsson

Úlfur Karlsson (born October 13, 1988 in Gothenburg ) is an Icelandic artist and filmmaker.

life and career

In 2003 his short film Pirovat was shown at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. In 2006 he made the short film Tvísaga and in 2008 Einskonar Alaska , for which he was inspired by a play by Harold Pinter .

In 2008 he graduated from the Icelandic Film Academy Kvikmyndaskóli Íslands and has been studying for a bachelor's degree at the Valand Fine Arts School in Gothenburg, Sweden, since 2009 .

In addition to his filmmaking work, he is a painter of expressionist abstract pictures, influenced by the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat and Jackson Pollock , and has had several exhibitions in the Reykjavík area .
