Üyüklütatar is a village in the Turkish province of Edirne on the Meriç Nehri River (Greek Evros ) 15 kilometers south of Edirne .

The 1522 inhabitants (2007) - with a clear surplus of men - live mainly from agriculture: There is livestock farming and the cultivation of rice, wheat, sunflowers and watermelons.

There is a primary school in the village. Drinking water network and sewerage are available. An asphalt road leads into the place connected to the electricity grid. A post office is missing.

The village is in the area of the fence planned by Greece near Orestiada , which is supposed to hold back the flow of refugees. In 2011, the construction of a moat started on the Greek side of the Evros, which is intended to contain the flow of refugees. In December 2012, the border fence at Evros was completed. The Greek state raised the funds for this itself. Since the fence was completed, the rate of illegal border crossings in the Evros area has fallen to almost 0%.
