Ālāscht or Alascht ( Persian آلاشت Alāscht ) or Elāsht is a small agricultural village in the Savādkuh administrative district of the Māzandarān provincein Iran .
Ālāscht is surrounded by mountains, which make for a cooler climate than most other regions of the province. Ālāscht became famous through the former Shah and founder of the Pahlavi dynasty Reza Pahlavi , who was born here in 1878. At that time the village had less than 1000 inhabitants.
