As ČSD series 365.0 were fast - Tender locomotives of Czechoslovak State Railways designated CSD.
history
The 365.0 series comes from the early construction program of the Czechoslovak State Railways and falls into the phase when the reproduction of tried and tested kkStB series was abandoned. Although the 365.0 designed by Vojtěch Kryšpín is not a replica of an Austrian type, it is characterized by numerous structural characteristics of Austrian series and can be seen as a further development of the kkStB series 910 .
Accordingly, it is a light express train locomotive. In its last period of service, the series served in passenger train service. The locomotive depot at Praha Masarykovo nádraží was part of the last deployment site . From here the locomotives ran in the direction of Chomutov and Louny . They were replaced by the 475.1 series .
Two locomotives will be preserved as a museum. The 365.020 from the first series is part of the inventory of the National Technical Museum in Prague . It has been in a desperate condition in the Chomutov museum depot since 2011. 365.024 from the second construction series is owned by the state railway company České dráhy . In 2018, because of its importance, this locomotive will be refurbished as the first locomotive series developed in the independent Czechoslovakia to be operational again. The Meiningen steam locomotive works in Germany was entrusted with the renewal of the steam engine and chassis, and the boiler was transferred to the SEA company in Kolín for repairs. Commissioning of the rebuilt locomotive is planned for the course of 2019. The torso of another machine is in the Jaroměř Railway Museum .
Conversion to pulverized coal firing
The locomotive 365.023 was equipped in 1951 as a test vehicle with pulverized coal combustion , which was similar to the Wendler system. She was given the number 365.501 and got a converted tender under the name 912.001. With this system high demands were placed on the maintenance of the locomotive technology. Expensive stationary systems for bunkering the coal dust were necessary. To make the work of the locomotive personnel easier, the mechanical grate loading with a stoker proved to be the more effective variant.
