Čedomir Jovanović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Чедомир Јовановић ; born April 13, 1971 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian politician.

Life

He studied dramaturgy at the University of Arts in Belgrade , worked as a journalist and participated in the student protests of 1996/97 against Slobodan Milošević .

He was a member of the Demokratska Stranka , which participated in the party alliance Democratic Opposition of Serbia . For this he was elected member of the Serbian parliament in December 2000 , he was parliamentary group leader from January 2001 to March 2003. After the death of Zoran Đinđić , Jovanović became Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia (at that time still part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia ).

On November 5, 2005, Jovanović and his supporters founded the Liberal Democratic Party (Liberalno-demokratska partija, LDP). In the parliamentary elections in Serbia in 2007 , he again succeeded in entering parliament, where he is chairman of the LDP parliamentary group.
