society
Đoàn began his football career in 2003 with FC Đồng Tháp . With the club, Đoàn achieved fluctuating results. In 2006 the club won the championship title of the second division, but rose again in 2007 from the V-League in order to achieve renewed promotion in the following year. In 2009, the defensive player moved to league rival Hoàng Anh Gia Lai . With these he reached sixth place in the league in his first year.

Đoàn has been a member of the Vietnamese national team since 2007 and is part of the team at the 2007 Asian Cup . In Group B with the teams of the United Arab Emirates , Japan and Qatar , Đoàn came in the 1: 4 defeat on July 16, 2007 for his only tournament appearance when coach Alfred Riedl replaced him in the 74th minute for Lê Tấn Tài . One of his greatest successes with this is winning the ASEAN football championship in 2008 , a football tournament for all Southeast Asian national teams. In the final on December 24th and 28th, Thailand was beaten 2: 1 and 1: 1 and thus won this title for the first time since the introduction of the cup in 1996. In 2010, Đoàn was appointed to the squad for the VFF Cup 2010 hosted by the Vietnamese Football Association . Without a win, the team finished fourth out of four teams. Shortly afterwards, in December of that year, national coach Henrique Callisto called the defender into the squad for the 2010 ASEAN championship .
