Ēriks Ošs

Ēriks Ošs (born March 13, 1927 in Liepāja ) is a Latvian cartoonist .

Life

Ošs was born in Karosta near Liepāja. As a student he drew for Latvijas Televizija . In 1953 he graduated from the Latvian Art Academy and then worked as an art teacher in Liepāja. From 1957 to 1995 he drew caricatures for the satirical journal "Dadzis". Along with Gunārs Bērziņš, Ošs is one of the most famous cartoonists in the country. He has been working for the daily Latvijas Avīze since 1994 . His work has been published in newspapers, at a variety of events, and in edited volumes.
