İlhan Ahmet

İlhan Ahmet ( Greek Ιλχάν Αχμέτ Ilchán Achmét , born April 2, 1968 in Komotini ) is a Greek lawyer and politician.

He comes from the Turkish minority in Western Thrace . After attending the Lyceum in Komotini until 1987, he studied at the Law Faculty of the University of Istanbul and graduated in 1993 as the best in the faculty. Since 1999 he worked as a lawyer.

After serving as a council member in the Rodopi regional district , he was elected to the Greek parliament for the conservative Nea Dimokratia in the 2004 parliamentary elections. In the 2007 and 2009 elections , he failed to enter parliament, whereupon he joined the Dimokratiki Symmachia party , which had split off from the Nea Dimokratia. In 2012 he joined the left-wing Dimokratiki Aristera . In the new elections in September 2015 , he was finally re-elected as a member of the To Potami party .

In addition to Greek and Turkish, he also speaks English, is married to Melykin Haki and has two children, Mpouket and Kaan.
