İntiqam Zairov

İntiqam Zairov (born April 21, 1985 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani weightlifter .

He reached seventh place in the class up to 85 kg at the 2008 European Championships and took part in the 2008 Olympic Games , where he was ninth. However, in 2016 he was subsequently disqualified from the 2008 Olympic Games after the anabolic drug dehydrochloromethyltestosterone was found in a doping sample during follow-up tests . In 2009 he won gold in snatching and silver in a duel at the European Championships . At the world championships in the same year he reached fifth place. At the 2010 World Championships he was seventh, now in the 94 kg class, and ninth in 2011 . In 2012 he took part in his second Olympic Games and came in sixth. At the European Championships in 2013 he was first. However, his doping test was positive and he was banned for two years. In 2017, a retrospective analysis found that Zairov was doped at the 2012 Olympic Games. The IOC therefore retroactively disqualified him from the 2012 Olympic Games.
