Stuttgart 1950 Berlin 1952

The 51st German Athletics Championships were held on July 28 and 29, 1951 in the Düsseldorf Rheinstadion . Almost all disciplines including the marathon took place in the context of this event.

In the pole vault , Julius Schneider set a new German record with 4.20 m.

There were three exceptions with championship competitions in other locations on other dates:

For the first time, another hurdle race on the 200 meter route was included in the competition program for men . In the following year this competition was canceled again, but was then part of the championship competitions from 1953 to 1965. The men's pentathlon was last held as the "German Pentathlon". The decathlon disciplines from the first day were evaluated .

The following overviews summarize the medal winners. A more detailed overview with the first six in each of the individual disciplines can be found under the link German Athletics Championships 1951 / Results .
