In the pole vault , Julius Schneider set a new German record with 4.20 m.
There were three exceptions with championship competitions in other locations on other dates:
- Forest run (men) - Uelzen , April 22nd on a route with individual and team evaluation
- All-around competitions (women: pentathlon ) / (men: pentathlon and decathlon ), each with individual ratings - Wetzlar , 18./19. August
- 50 km walk (men) - Braunschweig , September 9, with individual and team evaluation
For the first time, another hurdle race on the 200 meter route was included in the competition program for men . In the following year this competition was canceled again, but was then part of the championship competitions from 1953 to 1965. The men's pentathlon was last held as the "German Pentathlon". The decathlon disciplines from the first day were evaluated .
