The 50th German Athletics Championships were held on August 5 and 6, 1950 in the Neckar Stadium in Stuttgart . Almost all disciplines including the marathon took place in the context of this event.

There were three exceptions with championship competitions in other locations on other dates:

The only change in the competition program compared to the previous year was the change in two disciplines within the women's pentathlon : Instead of the 100-meter sprint , the 200 meters were run and the javelin was replaced by the 80-meter hurdles .

Josef Hipp showed himself to be very versatile at these championships, winning three titles with victories in discus , pentathlon and decathlon and also finished fourth in the long jump . At the German championships in the following years until 1954, the athlete was still very successful and won other championship titles in the shot put , discus throw and decathlon.

The following overviews summarize the medal winners. A more detailed overview with the first six in each of the individual disciplines can be found under the link German Athletics Championships 1950 / Results .
