Gerhard Hilbrecht (born April 2, 1915 in Walkowitz , Posen Province ; † November 1, 1996 Prien am Chiemsee ) was a German athlete .

biography

Gerhard Hilbrecht competed in the discus throw at the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 , but did not qualify for the final.

At the University Games, the predecessor of today's Universiade , Hilbrecht won the silver medal in the discus throw in 1935 . Two years later it was enough for gold in the discus and silver in the pentathlon .

In 1943 , 1946 and 1949 he was German champion in the discus throw .

In 1951 he was awarded the silver bay leaf .

Hilbrecht later worked as a teacher at the German School in Athens . His daughter Julia became a successful high jumper.
