The German Sports Club Düsseldorf e. V. (DSD for short) is a sports club from Düsseldorf founded on February 15, 1924 by former members of the Düsseldorfer Turnverein from 1847 . The club, with around 1100 members, includes tennis , hockey , athletics and boules . The club area with artificial turf hockey field, running track and ten tennis courts is located directly on the northern Düssel in the Grafenberg Forest .

The 2009/2010 season was the most successful so far from the perspective of the performance teams. Both in the hall and on the field, both teams, 1st women and 1st men, each rose to a league. The women were promoted to the regional league hall and field, the men to the 2nd Bundesliga hall and field. In the 2010/2011 season, the 1st men were promoted to the 1st Bundesliga hall.

Due to the rejuvenation of both teams, experienced players were missing, so that the leagues could not be held in some cases.

In the indoor season 2009/2010, the men's team became champions of the 2nd Bundesliga and was promoted to the Bundesliga . In 2004/2005, the DSD saved itself in the fifth-class 1st association league only in relegation before relegation to the lowest class. In the 2015/16 field season the 1st men's team was represented in the regional league and in the 2017/18 indoor season in the 2nd Bundesliga. The first women's team played in the field season 2015/16 in the major league and in the indoor season 2017/18 in the first regional league.

In the field of children's and youth teams, the DSD has been continuously developing since the introduction of artificial turf in 2003. Many talents are now growing up in the children's area. In the meantime, the DSD provides one or more teams, both girls / female youth and boys / male youth, in all age groups. The teams are registered in the Regionalliga and Oberliga. The boys A (U14) became German runner-up in the hall in 1999 after a 2: 4 after seven meters against the HTC Stuttgarter Kickers . The boys B (U12) became West German champions both on the field and in the hall in the 2015/16 season. The greatest success so far is winning the German championship with the boys A (U14) 2017/2018 on the field and in the hall. Due to this success, the club gained nationwide attention.

There are 346 active members between the ages of 4 and 18. In the area of ​​adult teams (performance & leisure), 112 DSD members actively play hockey.
