The 8th German Athletics Championships were the last in 1905, which were held across different locations and dates. As in the previous year, competitions were held in six disciplines. In addition, after a seven-year interruption, there was another race in the marathon over 40 km in Berlin on April 9th , which - until 1924 - was not officially part of the championship competitions, but was carried out independently as the "German Marathon".
