The 27th German Athletics Championships were organized for the first time in two competitions separated by sex: the men determined their champions on August 8 and 9, 1925 in Berlin , the women their champions on September 6, 1925 in Leipzig .
Some competitions have been outsourced:
- Forest run (men) - Hamburg , April 5th
- 25,000 m (men) - Berlin , August 25
- Decathlon - Leipzig , 5./6. September (as part of the women's championship program)
- Marathon (men) - Leipzig , September 6th (as part of the women's championship program)
- 50 km walk (men) - Düsseldorf , October 25th
The following changes were made to the competition program:
- The men's marathon was officially included in the program , after it had previously been held as the “German Marathon” for a number of years.

- With the women’s triathlon , an all-around competition was added to the program consisting of the disciplines 100 m , high jump and ball throwing , all held on one day. From 1928 this competition was replaced by the pentathlon .
About 110m hurdles scored Heinrich Troßbach 14.9 s a new German record.
