Gerda Poetting

Gerda Pöting (born October 20, 1907 in Berlin ; † unknown) was a German athlete who started for the Berlin sports club in the 1920s . She competed in sprint and long jump .

Services

Her personal bests are as follows:

  • 12.9 s over 100 meters, achieved on July 5, 1925 in Detmold
  • 5.40 m in the long jump, achieved on August 22, 1926 in Braunschweig . This achievement brought her to fourth place on the world's best list.

Together with Lilli Henoch , Charlotte Köhler and Cläre Voss , she formed the 4-by-100-meter relay of the Berliner SC, which not only won the German championship three times in a row - 1924, 1925 and 1926 - but also set two German records :

  • 51.6 s on July 13, 1924 in Berlin
  • 50.3 s on July 11, 1926 in Cologne . This time was noted as a world record by the FSFI .

In individual competitions Gerda Pöting only managed a single podium placement: in 1925 she was third over 100 meters.

At the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam , where athletics competitions were held for women for the first time, they did not participate.
