The old cemetery in Ennepetal district Rüggeberg is a monument protected cemetery .

The cemetery on Hesterberger Straße at the exit of Rüggeberg was donated by Franz Hesterberg to the Protestant parish of Rüggeberg, which was founded in 1798. The burial ground originally comprised 15 rows, seven of which are still preserved today. The cemetery is surrounded by a hedge and has old trees.

The plate-shaped tombstones in the form of steles with rounded arches and sparse ornamentation are mainly made of Ruhr sandstone . Some of them are designed in the form of stylized angel heads. According to the inscription, the oldest burial place dates from 1663. Thus, the cemetery is the oldest of its kind in the city.
