The 18th German Athletics Championships were held in Leipzig on August 27, 1916 . Like the four other athletics championships during the First World War , they were held with a somewhat reduced program (without all-around competitions, relays, walking competitions, obstacle course and cross-country running) and probably also with a reduced number of participants. Ten of the 13 championship titles were won by athletes from Berlin.
