The 22nd German Athletics Championships were held from August 14th to 15th, 1920 in Dresden .
For the first time there was also a competition offer for women, consisting of four disciplines, all of which were won by Marie Kießling .
For the men, two new disciplines were added to the championship program:

On July 25, there was also another marathon over the classic 42.195 km in Berlin . However, this discipline was not officially part of the championship competitions until 1924, but was carried out independently as the "German Marathon".
