Carl August Erler

Carl August Erler (born July 24, 1820 in Dresden ; † February 10, 1889 there ) was a German mathematician . Between 1865 and 1887 he was a full professor for descriptive geometry at the Dresden Polytechnic School .

Life

In 1836, Erler began studying mathematics and construction at the Technical College , where he became an assistant and teacher in projection theory, descriptive geometry and machine drawing in 1840 . In 1853 he took over the post of teacher for projection and perspective at the building trade school in Dresden and from 1862 was a teacher for projection theory, perspective and field measurements at the Polytechnische Schule Dresden .

In 1865 Erler was appointed full professor for descriptive geometry at the Dresden Polytechnic School / Polytechnic . He held this post until 1887.

Carl August Erler died on February 10, 1889 in Dresden, the city of his birth.
