The 24th German Athletics Championships took place in Duisburg from August 18 to 20, 1922 .
Concerning. There have been some changes to the competition offer:
- Women: After women were only able to compete in four disciplines in the previous two years, the offer has been significantly expanded. In addition, there was a jumping and two throwing competitions:
- Men:
- The 400 meter hurdles race was new to the offer .
- The three-way battle , which was held twice with different disciplines , was removed from the program.
The marathon , which is still not officially included in the championship program - carried out for the men as the "German Marathon" - was held on July 2nd in Berlin over the classic 42.195 km.
Two competitions have been outsourced:
- Forest run - Dresden , April 2nd
- 50 km walk (men) - Berlin , July 1st
Three new German records were set:
- 10,000 m - Emil Bedarff 32: 47.6 min
- 110 m hurdles - Heinrich Troßbach 15.3 s
- Pole vault - Heinrich Fricke 3.80 m
