The 26th German Athletics Championships took place in Stettin on August 9 and 10, 1924 . These were the last joint championship competitions for women and men before they were held separately for the next nine years.
Two competitions have been outsourced:
For the first time, the two-armed pushing / throwing came into the competition program. However, these disciplines were canceled after five years, as they no longer played a role internationally. For the evaluation, the distance already achieved for the competition with the better arm was added to the distance of the push / throw with the weaker arm.
On July 26th there was also another marathon over the classic 42.195 km in Berlin . This year, this discipline was not part of the official championship competitions for the last time, but, as in previous years, was carried out independently as the “German Marathon” before it was officially included in the championship program from 1925.
Lilli Henoch won four championship titles in a total of only seven women's disciplines with the long jump , shot put , discus throw and as the starting runner of the 4 × 100 m relay . Otto Peltzer was double champion in the middle distance .
The following overview summarizes the medalists from all competitions from 1924.
