Hermann Engelhard
Hermann Engelhard (born June 21, 1903 in Darmstadt ; † January 6, 1984 ibid) was a German athlete who won two medals at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam : the silver medal in the 4 x 400 meter relay (with Otto Neumann , Werner Storz and Richard Krebs ) and the bronze medal in the 800 meter run (1: 53.1 min).
From 1925 to 1932 he competed in ten international matches. His sports career ended prematurely due to an accident while taking boxing lessons at the sports college. Hermann Engelhard later worked as a qualified gymnastics and sports teacher at the Justus Liebig School in Darmstadt.
He started for SV Darmstadt 98 until 1927 , then for SC Teutonia 99 Berlin . In his playing days he was 1.76 m tall and weighed 65 kg.

Hermann Engelhard married the hurdler Ruth Becker , who won the 80-meter hurdles at the Women's World Games in London in 1934 .
