Kristian Hellström

Kristian Hellström (born July 24, 1880 in Stockholm ; † June 14, 1946 there ) was a Swedish middle and long distance runner .

In 1900 he became national champion over 500 m and 1500 m , in 1901 over 1500 m and 1902 over 10,000 m . On June 15, 1902, he set a Swedish record in Oslo with 2: 03.2 minutes.

At the German Athletics Championships in 1905 he started for Teutonia 99 Berlin and won the 1,500 meter run.

At the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , he won bronze over 1500 m and was fifth over 800 m. Two years later he retired from the 1908 Olympic Games over 800 m in the lead.

Kristian Hellström was Secretary General of the Organizing Committee of the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm. In the same year he was one of the founding members of the IAAF .
