Kurt Spitzmüller

Kurt Spitzmüller (born May 13, 1921 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † December 15, 2014 in Nordrach ) was a German politician ( FDP / DVP ).

Life and work

Spitzmüller was born the son of a hotel clerk. After attending the monastery and upper secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a hotel clerk, graduated from the hotel management school in Heidelberg and then took over the management of the parents' pulmonary hospital Kurhaus Nordrach in 1941. He took part in the Second World War as a soldier from 1941 to 1943 and was then drafted as a worker in the armaments industry. Shortly before the end of the war he was used in the Volkssturm before he was taken prisoner .

After his return from captivity, Spitzmüller founded the General Sports Club in Nordrach in 1946 and headed the athletics department there as an active athlete. He had been a board member of the South Baden Athletics Association since 1948, and in 1955 he became its chairman and also a board member of the Baden Sports Association. From 1972 to 1996 he was Vice President of the German Society for Leisure Time and from 1987 to 1997 he was Vice President of the Federal Association of German Private Hospitals .

Kurt Spitzmüller was married to Gabriele Spitzmüller , the founder of the Nordracher Puppenmuseum .

Political party

Spitzmüller joined the FDP / DVP in 1948 , had been a member of the state executive committee of the FDP / DVP in Baden-Württemberg since 1952 and was there from 1952 to 1954 in front of the young democrats . From 1970 to 1974 he was a member of the Federal Board of the Free Democrats.

MP

Spitzmüller was from 1953 to 1972 council member of the Nordrach community. In addition, he was a district council member of the Wolfach district and since 1973 a district council member of the Ortenau district . He was a member of the Bundestag from 1957 to 1969 and from January 12, 1971, when he replaced the resigned MP Wolfgang Rutschke , until 1980. He was always drawn into parliament via the Baden-Württemberg state list. From 1971 to 1976 he was deputy chairman, from 1976 to 1980 parliamentary managing director and from 1980 to 1982 parliamentary group manager of the FDP parliamentary group.
