İsmail Yaşar

İsmail Yaşar (born 1955 in Alanyurt; died June 9, 2005 in Nuremberg ) was one of the victims of the series of murders by the terrorist organizationNational Socialist Underground ” (NSU). The owner of a snack bar was killed with five shots in the head and torso.

Yaşar came to Germany at the age of 23. He had a daughter and a son.

On June 9, 2005 at around 10 a.m., murderers killed him using a Ceska Zbrojovka 83 with a silencer on. Later, notes and cards were found in the NSU's records showing a marking of the Yaşar snack bar.

Instead of investigating a possible right-wing extremist background, the murder commission, the Nuremberg criminal police in cooperation with the BKA, investigated in the direct vicinity of Yaşar. They suspected links to Turkish drug dealers from the Netherlands. Here, the officials heard from members of Yaşar and led by observations by undercover agents who put NSU investigation committee of the Bavarian parliament established in July, 2013. They built z. B. kebab stands to provoke protection rackets, as they suspected perpetrators in this environment. However, the police did not or only hesitantly followed up on indications of perpetrators from the NSU's environment, although there were many witnesses. One witness, for example, recognized a perpetrator on surveillance recordings of the nail bomb hit in Cologne .
