The pistol vz. 82 , officially gun vzor 82 ( vz. Is abbreviation of vzor on German design pattern or model), also known as CZ 82 , is a Czech gun in caliber 9 mm. It was designed as a military pistol in the 1980s and, along with the ČZ 75 B and -BD, is the standard pistol of the Czech armed forces and the Czech police.
history
The model 82 was used as a replacement for the outdated pistol vz. 52 and in the course of this conceived for the standard cartridge of the states of the Warsaw Treaty in 9 × 18 mm . Traditionally, the ČSSR developed its own weapon models instead of adopting Soviet types. Consequently the vz. 82, like its predecessor, the orderly pistol of the Czechoslovak People's Army instead of the Makarov pistol . Compared to this, its magazine capacity is higher, it is better processed, a little heavier and lies better in the hand. Their production is more complex and expensive. Ammunition and the like, specially optimized for its polygonal barrel , were also used as an orderly cartridge . a. with lacquered sintering - projectile introduced. This developed a significantly higher muzzle velocity and energy than that of the conventional cartridge used in the Makarow.
technology
The weapon is a recoil loader with an unlocked ground lock and has a double-action trigger with an external hammer. The handle and moving parts are made of steel, the handles are made of plastic. The double-row magazine holds 12 cartridges of 9 mm caliber and 15 cartridges of 7.65 mm caliber. Safety lever and magazine catch are available on both sides. The vz. 82 is provided with a lanyard ring.
variants
A modification of the vz. 82 is the ČZ 83 produced for the civil market. In contrast to vz. 82, which only fires 9 × 18 mm cartridges, the ČZ 83, which only has a single rifled barrel , was produced in the calibers 9 × 17 mm and 7.65 × 17 mm HR . A few dozen ČZ 83 were manufactured with a barrel lengthened by 1 centimeter for screw mounting of a silencer . One of these specimens was the eponymous weapon of the Ceska murder series .
Both models were painted as a surface treatment, early copies of the ČZ 83 were blued . Later this model, now provided with slightly modified handle scales, was also available in different versions and was partly sold with a magazine that only held 10 cartridges.
