Ľubica Schultze

Ľubica Schultze , née Jonisová (born December 18, 1975 in Pressburg ) is a former Slovak - German basketball player .

career

As a teenager she practiced swimming and started playing basketball at the age of twelve. She played in her hometown for HC Slovan Bratislava and became youth champion of the CSFR and Slovakia . Then the 1.96 meter indoor player was in the service of MBK Ružomberok, she also became national champion of Slovakia in the women's area and won the cup competition.

In 1997/98 she played for City Basket Berlin and scored 27 points per game in her first year in the Bundesliga, making her the best scorer in the league. In 1998 she moved to the DJK Aschaffenburg. With the DJK, she was German runner-up in 1999 and 2000, and in the European club competition Ronchetti Cup she reached the semi-finals with Aschaffenburg in spring 2000.

In the run-up to the 2000/01 game year, she joined the USC Freiburg , in mid-November 2001 she received German citizenship, and before that she had played for the German national team in tournaments. In the 2002/03 season she was in the service of TV Saarlouis , in the 2003/04 season she played for COB Calais and 2004/05 for Tarbes Gespe Bigorre (both France).

In 2005 she took part with Germany in the European Championship in Turkey . In total, she made 40 international matches for Germany. For the 2005/06 season she went back to Germany and joined the BG Dorsten . After a year with the BG, Schultze went abroad again, she accepted an offer from the Italian first division club Banco di Sicilia Ribera, which she reinforced in the 2006/07 season in the last year of her competitive sports career.
