Well (נון) is the fourteenth letter in the Hebrew alphabet . The name of the letter also means “fish” and the numerical value 50. If the letter is at the end of a word, it is spelled differently as the final letter. This notation is sometimes used for the numerical value 700. In the (related) Aramaic language , the word nun has the meaning of "snake", going back to the corresponding Phoenician symbol in the hieroglyphic script .

history

The Hebrew Nun has the same historical background as the Phoenician Nun , from which the Greek Ny , the Latin N and the Arabic Nun emerged .
