Koph

Koph or Qoph ( קוף), also spelled Kof or Qof , is the nineteenth letter in the Hebrew alphabet . It has the numerical value of  100. Most of the speakers is the Koph as Kaph (with Dagesh ) pronounced [ k ] . Originally the Koph was pronounced throatier than the Kaf.

In the Greek alphabet, the koph corresponds to the koppa , which was soon only used as a number symbol. The resulting Latin Q , however, has been preserved as a letter to this day.
