The first FSC Graz (full name 1. Futsal Club Graz ) is an Austrian Futsal -Verein that in the Austrian Bundesliga Futsal plays.

history

The 1st FSC Graz was founded in May 2007 by Gerhard Zuber and Daniel Scharmann. The association belongs to the umbrella organization of the ASKÖ .

The roots of the FSC go back to 1995, when the team name Lippiwirt achieved their first national and international successes (for example, they became Austrian beach soccer champions in 1998 and 1999 and winners of the international tipp3 beach soccer tournament in 2004 at the Vienna Danube Island ). Later they played under the name of the University Sports Center Restaurants Graz ("USZ Restaurant"), where they won the Styrian Academic Indoor Championships seven times (1997 to 2002 as well as 2004 and 2006).

In 2007/08 the Graz team took part in the Austrian Futsal Bundesliga for the first time and were instant champions. Thanks to this title, they were able to take part in the 2008 UEFA Futsal Cup , where they played against the national futsal champions from Andorra (Madriu), Switzerland (Zurich) and Latvia (Riga). After victories against Madriu (4: 1) and Zurich (4: 2), however, they lost the decisive game against Riga with 6: 7 and thus missed promotion to the next round. In this season the Austrian Futsal Supercups 2008 were won against the cup winner Stella Rossa tipp3 .

In the 2008/09 season, 1. FSC Graz took third place in the Bundesliga. The best-known players of the FSC are the former Sturm Graz professionals Günther Neukirchner , Markus Schopp , Gilbert Prilasnig and Jan-Pieter Martens .
